Alene Witt Brothers, 87, died Dec 15, 2004 at Altoona Health Care Center, Mrs. Brothers was a member of the New Prospect community in Snead. She was the wife of the late Marvin Brothers and a daughter of the late Claude B and Shirley Jewel Graves Ridgeway. Mrs. Brothers was a member of New prospect Church, where she was very active in church work, and a retired nursing aide at Blount Memorial Hospital with 20 years of service. Surviving are daughters Betty Smith, Brooksville, Lonnett Bertrand, Poway, California, Peggy Witt, and Delane Talton, both of Snead; sisters Luvene Allen, Juanita Dye, Margurete Ridgeway, Betty Cardin, and Doris Tidwell; brother William E. Ridgeway, chosen sister Imojean Copeland; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Beside her parents, Mrs. Brothers was predeceased by husbands Lonnie Witt and Marvin Brothers, daughter Sara Jackson and grandson, Billy Parrish. Rev. Bobby Waddle, Rev. Bill parkins, and Rev. Randy Burtrand officiated services at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery near Susan Moore. Pallbearers were Ray Smith, Mickey Witt, Greg Jackson, Derek Bertrand, Lewis Grand, and Jason Smith.
