Mary A. Short, 96, formerly of 1929 W. Hudson, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bel-Wood Nursing Home, where she had been a patient four years.
Born April 1, 1892, in Brimfield to William and Ellen Rose McKune Belford, she married Albert W. Short in Brimfield on Oct. 14, 1914. He died in Peoria on Aug. 2, 1969. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, who died in infancy; one great-grandchild and one brother.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernadette "Bea" Gilman of Peoria Heights and Mrs. Alfred A. (Margaretta) Kirchgessner of Peoria; three sons, W.M. "Leo" of Nokomis, Fla., Francis F. and James F., both of Venice, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at her church with Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Endsley & Son Funeral Home, 1125 Main, is in charge of arrangements.
