Ann Booker Wendt, 96, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at WhiteStone of Greensboro, N.C.

Ann was born August 26, 1922 in Martinsville, Va. to Jesse Wootton Booker, Jr. and Mary Claude Clanton Booker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darwin Taylor Wendt; brother, Jesse Wootton Booker III; and sister, Mary Booker Pannill.

Ann attended Salem College and completed her education at Edgewood Park Junior College of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. She was a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church and the First Couples Class; a former member of the Rachel Caldwell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ann enjoyed people, the beauty of nature and bird watching. Her children were her life and she their greatest gift.

She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Taylor Wendt; and son, David Breckenridge Wendt, both of Greensboro, N.C.; nieces Greyson Pannill of Williamsburg, Mass. and Ann Lavinder Pannill of Clemmons, N.C., in addition to two great nieces.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery, Martinsville, Va. The Reverend Bill Ellison will preside.
