Mary Booker Pannill, 96, of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at King’s Grant Retirement Community where she was a resident.
She was born in Martinsville, December 14, 1917, to Jesse W. Booker, Jr. and Mary Claude Clanton Booker. Mary was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women’s College and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Banks Pannill.
Surviving are two daughters, Greyson Pannill and husband Peter Siersma of Williamsburg, Mass., and Ann Lavinder Pannill of Clemmons, N.C.; one sister, Ann Booker Wendt of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Kate Pannill-Siersma Emmerich and husband Reid of Portland, Maine, Alida Pannill-Siersma Burry and husband Nick of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one great-grandchild, Blakely Grey Emmerich; niece and nephew, Elizabeth and David Wendt of Greensboro, N.C.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 18, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at King’s Grant Victory Chapel with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. A reception will follow in the multi-purpose room at King’s Grant.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery will be private.
