William A Reuter, 71, Wilmington ship chandler and native of Merced, resident of the Barbor District for 50 years and a 30 year employee of the C J Hendry Company ship chandling firm, died at his home at 1009 Marine Avenue after an extended illness.
He retired six years ago, and was widely known in civic, maritime and fraternal circles.
Reuter is survived by his wife, Adele, son John, daughters Betty Scheppmann and Margaret Stanley, seven grandchildren, brothers I H Reuter of Merced and sisters Mrs M M Morse, Mrs C E Welch and Mrs Mayme Myers of Merced.
Omission of flowers and donation to the Heart Fund is requested.
