Born November 9, 1930 in Port Royal, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alton L. and Ruth E. (Boyer) Meloy. She was the widow of Edward H. Shevenock since August 2003 and had been married 52 years. Carol’s sister, Betty Cunningham preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, Edward of Camp Hill and Steven of Fort Collins, CO, and daughter, Susan of Mt. Penn, PA, as well as grandchildren Emily, Megan, Lindsay, Corey, and Danielle and great grandchildren Zoe, Samuel, and Karter. Also surviving is her sister, Gayle Cisney of Port Royal and nieces and nephews.
After graduating from the Tuscarora High School in 1948 with partial courses at West Chester University, Carol was a homemaker almost her entire adult life raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed camping along the New Jersey seashore. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and was a former choir member.
Per her request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be on March 30, 2019 at the Rex Funeral Home, 308 Market St, Port Royal, PA 17082 at 11:00 AM followed by interment at nearby Old Church Hill Cemetery.
