Nettie R. Haley Corder, 85, of Macomb, formerly of Augusta and Schuyler County, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital.
Born May 23, 1918, in New Guinea to Harrison Monroe and Jessie Mae Moore Arnold, she married James Homer Haley on Oct. 24, 1936. He died Dec. 4, 1952.
She later married John Malsey Corder on Aug. 13, 1968. He died June 3, 2003.
She also was preceded in death by three half brothers; three brothers; three sisters; six half sisters; one son, Robert J. Haley; two daughters, Geraldine Simpson and Sara Katherine Judd; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, John Haley of Knoxville, Iowa, and Keith Haley of Huntsvile, Ala.; one stepson; six daughters, Carolyn (and Marion) Knowles, Phyllis Hershberger and Sue (and Marlin) Hurst, all of Colchester, Elaine (and Donald) Lane of Hartzell, Ala., Lois (and Robert) Damron of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Diane (and Ralph) Whitsell of Summerville, S.C.; six stepdaughters; 33 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Vern Arnold of North Charleston, S.C.; and two sisters, Molly Jones of Clearwater, Fla., and Reba Lovan of Galesburg.
She was a certified nurse's aide, worked at Burlington Ordnance Plant, worked in home health care and was a cook.
She was a member of Augusta Assembly of God Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jones Mortuary in Colchester. The Revs. Jerry and Patsy Spratt will officiate. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
