Margaret "Peggy" Anna Phillippe 86, Carmel, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007. Peggy was born on November 23, 1920 to parents, Ezra and Verla (Evans) Chaille. Peggy, a homemaker who started her career as a dietician, was a graduate of Bloomington High School in 1939. She earned her B.A. degree from Indiana University in 1943, and her masters degree from Butler University in 1973. Peggy was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church for over 46 years, and she was a former member of the Crossroads Guild.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Phillippe, I, who she married on December 27, 1944. One sister, Jessie Chaille, also preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Jamie Phillippe of Chicago, IL; one son, James R. Phillippe, II of Gallipolis, OH; two grandchildren: James R. Phillippe, III and Corey Nicholas Phillippe; three step-grandchildren: Fenimore Jeffrey Atkins Johnson, William Thomas Atkins Johnson, and Andrew Scott Atkins Johnson; and one brother, Robert Chaille, of Seattle, WA.
Services were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan - Broad Ripple Funeral Center of Indianapolis, Indiana.
