Obituary - Gertrude Bertha Boehme Barfuss, age 84, passed away June 4, 1997, in Bountiful, Utah, due to diabetic complications.
Born February 26, 1913, in Geneva, Idaho, the second of thirteen children to John Hugo and Gertrude Helene Marx Boehme. Married November 22, 1934, to John Henry Barfuss in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Retired school lunch cook. Dedicated LDS Church member serving in numerous callings. Avid quilter, donating her handmade treasures to hundreds of fortunate people.She was devoted to her family and enjoyed her gardens.
Survived by her husband of Bountiful; daughter, Joyce Barfuss, Carson City, Nevada; sons, Gerald Henry Barfuss (Mary), Michael Jon Barfuss (Gloria), Bountiful, Utah; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and an infant grandson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 7, 1997, at 12 noon at the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful. Friends may call Friday evening 6 - 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday morning 10 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment--Salt Lake City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Gertrude suggests contributions to Primary Childrens Medical Center or an organization of your choice.
