CONGERVILLE -- Mrs. Juan Purvis died Monday morning at her home here. Mrs. Purvis was born May 29, 1867, in Jackson County, Kentucky. She was married to W. C. Purvis, and after living a while in Kentucky [and then Iowa], they moved to Congerville.
Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Nancy Campbell, Congerville; Mrs. Malissa Bige, Mrs. Naomi Warren, and Elmer Purvis, all of Sterling; Sylvester and Talbridge Purvis, both of Congerville.

As reported by a family member who walked the cemetery in March 2020, there is no headstone for Juan nor her husband Willard.
