THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SUN, March 29, 1950

Lemuel L. Moore, 71, native of Mississippi, resident of San Bernardino and of California for 10 years, died yesterday in a San Bernardino hospital. A retired contractor, he made his home at 410 Third Street.

He is survived by four sons, W.P. Moore, San Mateo, A.E. Moore and V.A. Moore both of Avalon, and L.F. Moore of Glendale; two daughters, Mrs. Bridgey Cruz of San Bernardino and Mrs. Mary Craig of San Bernardino; and one sister, Mrs. Curie Johnson, Louiston, Idaho.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow at Kremer Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Biographical information:
Moved in 1894 to Heavener, Choctaw County, Oklahoma with his parents and siblings. He married Mary Alayouse Lahey on October 10, 1909 in Hughes County, OK about 100 miles NW of Choctaw Co. They had seven known children; one not linked below is Lemuel Floyd Moore (born 12/22/1915 in McKinley, TX, died 2/27/1976 in Los Angeles, CA).

In the 1910 census the family lived in Bell County, Texas and he worked as a laborer with Railroad Grading. In 1918 he is living in Nichols, Greene County, Missouri as a Railroad Contractor. In the 1920 census the family lived in Saline, Sevier County, Arkansas sill working in Construction Foreman (assuming for a railroad). In 1930 census they lived in Henryetta, Okmulgee County, OK and he was noted as a laborer performing 'odd jobs' renting a home for $25/mo. About 1940 he moved to San Bernardino, CA and was a contractor. It appears he and Mary divorced at some point as she is not mentioned in his obit.
