Eldest son of William Davis and Amanda (Mandy) Susan Pierce Moore. He and his wife Mary Lann Moore had six known children: William Henry, Elzy W., Austin Verdo, Pecure "Curie" Dane, Lemuel Quillus, and an unknown child that died in infancy. The alternative spelling of the middle name was "Alford" which is seen in some records.

He moved to Cameron, OK in January 1894 with his family. At that time this was Choctaw Indian Territory; modern-day LeFlore County. In the 1900 census, he had moved to Heavener, LeFlore County, Oklahoma, with his wife and two youngest children; his occupation was a "teamster" or truck driver; this is about 20 miles south of Cameron. William's brother, David Hampton Moore followed him to Oklahoma, settling in Stephens County about 1912.

There is no census record of him or his wife after 1900. The 1910 census of his mother reflects seven (7) of her (9) children still alive which would include William so his death was at some point after this. Two of his siblings died as infants. I have a written family record that reflects him dying on August 2, 1925, in Smithville, MS; however, I believe this is in error as this is also the date/location of his brother, Jeremiah (Jerry) Davis Moore death; furthermore, it appears he was deceased prior to his mother's death in 1924 as he was not mentioned in the list of survivors in her obituary. It is my opinion that he died about 1910.

The two younger children noted above were Curie and Lemuel Moore. The three other sons; William, Elzy, and Austin lived in Oklahoma or neighboring Texas and are buried there. I found no record of William or Martha living with any of their children after 1900.

I believe William is most likely buried in LeFlore County with his wife but unable to confirm this. It is much less likely he is buried in Monroe County, Mississippi since the family is very well documented in Mississippi. William was my 2nd Great-Uncle
