Elizabeth “Anne” Cruson went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She was born on September 3, 1942 in Lewisville, TX to Jane Smith & Gene Q. Smith.
Anne was a loving wife of 58 years to her husband, Billy H. Cruson. She was an amazing mother to two children, son, Kevin Cruson of Hickory Creek, TX, daughter, Kim Cruson MacDougall and her husband Nathan of Corinth, TX. She was an incredible Granny to three grandchildren, Kylie Cruson, Bryce MacDougall, and Britton MacDougall. Anne was a role model to her younger sister Karen Smith Nichols and husband Dale of Colorado.
Anne was a graduate of Lewisville High School class of 1960. She participated in Cheerleading, was an All-State Basketball player, and was the Salutatorian of her class. She was selected as Ms. LHS, Homecoming Queen and the Rodeo Queen. Anne and Billy met in fifth grade and are storybook high school sweethearts.
Anne and Billy married September 3,1960. Anne was a dedicated employee of State Farm Insurance for 42 years. In her sparetime, she also baled hay, raised cattle, and did commercial mowing. She was the secretary for many rodeos including the annual Lewisville Rodeo and a member of the Lewisville Saddle Club.She was a lifelong member of the Lake Dallas Church of Christ.
Anne was an incredible cook and found great joy sharing meals with family and friends. She loved attending her grandchildren’s many athletic activities and never missed a game. Anne was a very giving and loving person. She would go out of her way to help anyone that was in need. She cherished the many friends who brought so much joy to her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Jane Smith.
Visitation is Sunday January 27, 6-8pm at Mulkey-Mason funeral home in Lewisville, TX. Services to celebrate Anne’s life will be Monday January 28, 12pm noon at Lake Dallas Church of Christ in Lake Dallas TX.
