Barbara A. Collum, 72, of Manteno, passed away Thursday February 14, 2019, at her home. She was born November 7, 1946, in Chicago, the daughter of Owen Lee and Lucille (Gibson) Hults. Barbara married Ronald J. Collum on October 18, 1969, in Chicago. He preceded her in death May 7, 2015.
Barbara was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping and doing crossword puzzles. Barbara was a loyal soap opera watcher and also enjoyed watching “Family Feud” and “NCIS.”
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Russell and Kimberly Shepard and John Shepard, all of Manteno; one daughter, Jill Collum, of Manteno; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Cole, Nolan, Jacob, Connor, Maddison, Brody and Morrigan.
In addition to her husband, Ronald J. Collum, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jack Hults, Bill Hults, and Russell Hults.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, February 18, at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno.
Burial followed at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
