Dolly died during childbirth. The only census that her name is recorded in is 1900 Justice Precinct 7, Johnson County, Texas. Dolly was 12 years old at that recording. Her father was recorded as O. V. Bewley in that census (although his name is Obediah Bewley) and her stepmother was M.E. (Martha Willoughby) Bewley. Nothing is known of a husband nor the infant child that accompanied her in death.

Her mother, Lucinda (Steenbergan) Bewley died in Kentucky prior to the family moving to Texas and prior to Obediah's marriage to Martha Willoughby.
