Evelyn "Faye" Welborn, 92, of Wichita Falls passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with Mr. Charlie Thomason, officiating. Evelyn will be buried along with her husband at Vashti Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Faye was born on January 22, 1927 to the late Robert E. and Betty Wetsel (Cate) Baker in Vashti, Texas. She graduated from Henrietta High School. Faye married the love of her life, Verle Welborn on February 12, 1950 at 10th and Broad Church of Christ in Wichita Falls. The couple spent 62 wonderful years together before his passing in 2012. Faye was a member of Faith Village Church of Christ. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator, Gibson Discount Store and sold Avon products for several years. She later retired after 20 years from Coach House Gifts. Family and friends will miss her dearly.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Blaine; and nephew, Ronnie Looney.
Faye is survived by her son, Leland Welborn and wife, Debbie; daughter, Myra Weeks and husband, Russell, all of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Sarah Smith of Nocona, DeWayne Keller and wife, Kendall of Bandera, Krystal Ross and husband, Joe of Wichita Falls, Dillon Weeks of Red Oak, Iowa, and Michelle Gonzalez of Houston; twelve great-grandchildren, Kinleigh, Makenzie, Daysia, KayCee, Christian, Mack, Wyatt, Gemma, Goldie, Sydney, Klayton, and Oliva; and three nephews, Wayne Northcutt, David Looney, and Tim Looney.
