George Bandy (Sr) was born about 1750 in Bedford County, Virginia, the son of Avy Bandy. He married Christina Slinkard (or Schlunker) about 1775. The moved to North Carolina about 1780 and he was innumerated on the 1790 Census in Morgan District, Lincoln County, NC. George signed his will on October 6, 1822 and it was probated in the October session, 1822. It appears that George and his family was in Burke County, NC before ending up in Lincoln County. He and Christina had four sons and eight daughters:
1. Milley Bandy, b. ca. 1775; m. John Caldwell about 1799,
2. Mary (Polly) Bandy, b. ca. 1777; m. John Johnston about 1800.
3. George Bandy, Jr., 1779-1874, m. Martha (Patsy) Gibbs on 19 January 1819.
4. William Bandy, d. 1861; m. Elizabeth Wilfong.
5. Elizabeth Bandy, b. ca. 1781; m. James Rockett about 1813.
6. Nancy Bandy, b. ca. 1788; m. Andrew Bumgarner about 1814.
7. John Bandy, d. 1846; m. Christina Hollar about 1817.
8. Thomas Bandy, 1 Oct. 1784-2 July 1858; m. Rebecca Goodson in 1809; removed to Arkansas in 1833.
9. Catherine Bandy, b. ca. 1786; m. David Lutz about 1820.
10. Sarah Bandy, b. ca. 1796; m. Edward Saunders on 28 June 1823.
11. Mehala Bandy, b. ca. 1798; m. Eli Lutz on 1 July 1825.
12. Susannah Bandy, b. ca. 1800; she became the second wife of Eli Lutz after her sister Mehala died in 1833.
