Mae (Shadoan) Burns died at Lake Cumberland Medical Center after an illness of 15 months. She was 83 years old.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was survived by her son, Robert Burns of Somerset, Kentucky; her daughters, Lillie Silvers of Somerset, Kentucky and Lucille Chitwood of Dayton, Ohio; her brother, Luther Dodson Shadoan of Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Talbert and Bethada Bales Shadoan; her husband, Albert Eugene Burns; and her children, Thomas Carl Burns, Thelma Marie Bess, and Rosy Mae Duncan.
Funeral services were held at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company with Reverend Robert Browning and Reverend Rick Clark officiating.
