She was the daughter of Cornelius and Mollie (Hawk) McMullen. On Jun 26, 1955, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, she married Roger B. Schaefer, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Debra Schaefer, Sidney; a brother-in-law, Dale Schaefer, New Bremen; and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy McMullen, St. Marys, and Judy Gehle, Minster.

A 1953 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, she had been very active in the music program of the school. She continued to enjoy music and tap dancing all her life. She and her family spent many weekends at Indian Lake, and she enjoyed making crafts. She had worked at the former Home Bank, St. Marys, New Knoxville Telephone Company and Orr Felt Company, Piqua.
Services will be at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
