Janice “Jan” Jean Thompson, age 76 of Shawano, formerly of Bonduel, Florence County and Green Bay, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Jan was born in Shawano on July 24, 1942, a daughter of the late Vernon and Victoria (Seering) Monroe. She grew up in Bonduel and graduated from Bonduel High School. On April 4, 1964, Jan was united in marriage to Richard “Rick” Thompson at Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel. She was an avid Packer fan and rarely missed a game. Jan enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching the hummingbirds and riding the Goldwing with Rick. Jan was an active and faithful member of Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel and Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain.

Janice is survived by: her loving husband of nearly 55 years, Rick; their granddaughter, Ashley (Bradley) Bodwin of Luxemburg; one great-grandchild on the way; three brothers, Chuck Monroe of Appleton, Fred Monroe of Green Bay and Steve Monroe of Bonduel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Suzanne Van Rossum; a granddaughter, Amber; a great-grandson, Bramwell; one brother, Dick; and two sisters, Patti Herb and Nancy Borowski.

A memorial service for Jan will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel with Rev. Dan Nault officiating. Inurnment will be in Nicolet Memorial Garden in Green Bay. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
