Last rites were held for Glenn Allen Friday afternoon at the Powell Funeral home at 2 o'clock. He passed away Wednesday following a lingering illness. Rev. John D Giles was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Wassonville Cemetery. Miss Mary Yoder, sang several hymns and was accompanied at the piano by Mrs John Giles. Glen Thomas Allen, was born November 29, 1884 in Wellman Iowa, Son of Thomas J. and Mariam J Leighton Allen, passed away June 11 1952 at the University Hospital, Iowa City Iowa. On October 22, 1905 he was united in Marriage to Emma May Perrin, who preceded him in death, April 13, 1941. They lived most of their lives in and around Wellman. To this union were born six sons and three daughters; William E.; Harvey Lee; Edith E. Romine; Arther L.; Gilbert L.; Lavada V. Reynolds; Marlyn; Mildred R. Whetstine all of Wellman, and Charles E. Allen of Iowa City, Iowa He is survived by his nine children, and one brother John Everette Allen of Lacrosse, WI and thirty-two grandchildren and five great - Grandchildren and number of Nieces and nephews. His mother, six sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Glen's father was first mayor of Wellman. Pall bearers were: Mearl Whetstine, William Aggson, Leland Aggson, Francis Butterbaugh, Howard Enfield and Leonard Wasson.
