Wilma Henrietta Rediger, 100, of Eureka resident of “The Loft ” (previously known as Maple Lawn Nursing Home) Eureka Illinois, went to be with Jesus and Lester, her late husband, on February 2 , 2019.
Wilma was born on Oct. 4, 1918 in Aurora, Nebraska a daughter of William and Verna Littlefield Schertz. She married Lester Rediger on Jan. 2, 1938. She and Lester lived in Illinois since the start of their marriage. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary before Lester's death on March 13, 2011 at the age of 99.
Wilma has no surviving siblings. Her children are Lee (Olean) Rediger from Goodfield, IL and Laureen (Roger) Traver from Colorado Springs, CO. She has 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Pierson, Josephine Hall and one brother, Vern Schertz.
Wilma and Lester attended Rock Creek Bible Church in Congerville, IL. Over the years, she has passed on a heritage of God's love, faithfulness and mercy. One of her favorite Bible passages is: 1 John 1:9.
Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Rev. Phil Bachman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11-1p.m. on Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or Charity of Donor’s Choice.
