While a postal worker in Gorizia(in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia), Italy; Giuseppina caught the eye of Primo Carnera, former world heavy weight boxing champion, and in a short time married him on March 13, 1939.
They had 2 children: Umberto Carnera born 1940 in Sequals, Italy and Giovanna Maria(Jean) Carnera born 1943 also in Italy. Umberto, after a stint in the US Navy, became a medical doctor serving as emergency room chief at South Bay Hospital in Sun City, Florida; and Jean, majoring in psychology at UCLA, became a counselor. She married February 8, 1964.
After Primo arrived in New York City on July 19, 1946 to pursue a wrestling career, he quickly decided to relocate to Los Angeles, California while awaiting the arrival of his wife, Pina and their two children on July 29, 1948. They then moved to Los Angeles, where they bought a house and Pina became his business manager, of which one of her duties was tutoring him for his acting career. She was also quite successful investing in San Fernando Valley real estate. In addition to Primo's wrestling career, they opened a restaurant and liquor store in Los Angeles County. In 1953, they all became American citizens.
Giuseppina died on August 20, 1980, at the age of 67 in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California.
