D.A. Bonner, 88, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, February 1, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Bonner was born March 17, 1930 in Freestone County to parents James Millen and Artie Ola Teer Bonner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 5872 in Fairfield. He married Patricia Nell (Pat) Henry on March 6, 1953 and she preceded him in death on October 8, 2018. He retired as an engineer from Burlington Northern Railroad and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Bonner enjoyed ranching, farming and fishing. In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters and a great-grandson, Ethan Travis Bonner; son-in-law, Timothy Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are five children; Donnie Bonner of Fairfield; Randy Bonner of Roscoe, TX; Sharon Johnson McCain and husband, Forrest (Lefty) of Fairfield; Tommy Bonner and wife Helen of Streetman; Jimmy Bonner and wife Wendy of Teague; one brother, Charles Mack Bonner of Mexia; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
