Peter was the son of Jacob & Susannah Secrist Crow. He was a farmer and a scout for the military during the Indian Wars. He was the brother of the famous Crow sisters murdered in now Greene County, PA by Indians. He married Susannah Earlewine around 1795, and they were the parents of 11 children known to be: Mary Polly Crow Hagerman, Jacob Crow, Isaac Crow, Abraham Crow, Frances Crow Blair Fisher, Sophia Crow Cunningham, Sabra Crow Francis, Samuel Crow, Peter Crow Jr. (1813-1852) married to Elizabeth Shook, Susanna Crow Standiford, and Lucy Ann Crow Billiter Villers.
