She was a member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church, who loved to listen to gospel music. She loved watching University of Kentucky Basketball.
Dorothy was born March 12, 1927, in Paris, TN to the late Hafford H. Crowder and the late Iva Ray Hastings Crowder.
She was married September 6, 1943, to Baxter Bell Brown, who preceded her in death on December 18, 1999.
She is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Whitt of Paris, TN, and Bonnie (Eldon) Wimberly of Camden, TN; one daughter-in-law: Linda Brown of Paris, TN; two sisters: Maureen Evans of Memphis, TN, and Marjorie (Louie) Ward of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren: Lynnette Hayes of Big Sandy, TN, Michelle (Albert) Vassar of Paris, TN, Sherry Brazzell of Camden, TN, Jody (Lore) Wimberly of Camden, TN, D’anna (Richie) Faulkner of Camden, TN, Yvonne (Carl) Schoubye of Cottage Grove, TN, and Gelena (Todd) McCann of Paris, TN; 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Eddy Wayne Brown; two sisters: Mildred “Susie” Cain, Mary B. Thompson; five brothers: Hafford Crowder Jr., James Ed Crowder, Bobby Gene Crowder, Billy Joe Crowder and Rainey Crowder.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Wednesday January 24, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and continue Thursday January 25, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until her service. Her funeral service will be Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Marty Johnson and Bobby Campbell officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Wimberly, Josh Bowden, Austin Brazzell, Dustin Damesworth, Shane Yates and Brandon Parker.
Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN.
