Merlyn Bunot Houston, 79 passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Heber City, Ut.
She was born on March 11, 1939 in Francis, Utah. She was the daughter of Joseph Augustus Bunot and Arva Alice McNeil Bunot. She graduated from South Summit High School in 1957 as Salutatorian. She was always top in her class. She was a very hard working woman who can be remembered best for her Tupperware parties and bridal showers and her tri chem paint classes. She was a member of the L.D.S. church. She enjoyed puzzles, scrabble, coloring and crafting the most memorable items.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Bates, Cathy Houston, Peggy Clark and daughter-in-law Jill Jones; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Bunot; brother-in-laws, Robert Henson and Don Baker, and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Houston; a son Joseph Gus Houston; her parents; a brother Ken Bunot; sisters, Pauline Rees and Beverlee Henson; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to Rocky Mountain Care and the Abbington of Heber and their employees for the love and care they provided for her the past few years.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Francis L.D.S. Church. Viewing will be at the church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Francis Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.
