Hubert Edward Daffron, 74, Alton, died Thursday in West Plains Memorial Hospital. He was born June 23, 1909 in Thomasville, the son of the late Oscar and Letha Palmer Daffron.
He was married in 1929 to Bessie Couch, who preceded him in death.
He was married March 5, 1955 at Thomasville to Goldia Nivens Harding.
Mr. Daffron was a member of the Smyrna Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Goldia Daffron of Alton, MO; two daughters, Patsy Watson of Springfield, MO; Letha Noell of Jonesboro, AR; one step-son Gary Harding of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Sherman Daffron of Thomasville, MO; one sister Odean Sherrell of Jackson, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one brother; and two children, Pansy and Mary Evelyn.
Funeral services were today in the Smyrna Freewill Baptist Church, Alton; with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial was in Huddleston Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Thayer.
