Amira was originally buried in the Wisner Burying Ground, also known as the Old Baptist Cemetery and Main Street Cemetery, in Elmira. That cemetery was closed in 1876 to create a park and any family members who had not removed burials, the memorials and remains were removed to a section in Woodlawn Cemetery, where seven rows of those memorials exist today.

Towner transcribed this memorial in the fall of 1875 in the Wisner Burying Ground. The grave next to her daughter, Amira in Woodlawn Cemetery is likely Amira, the memorial having been lost through time.
