Mrs. Emma Black, 85, widow of John L. Black, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Rothenberger, Frankfort, Tuesday morning (January 23, 1945) at 1:30 o'clock.

Mrs. Black was born in Tippecanoe county, November 24, 1859, the daughter of Hamilton and Elizabeth Platt Yount. On December 1, 1881, she was united in marriage with John L. Black, whose death occurred on April 10, 1939.

Mrs. Black lived most of her life in the Mattix Corner neighborhood. Since 1931, she had been a resident of Frankfort. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are the daughter; a son, Floyd T. Black of Mulberry; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
