Beloved husband of the late Rose (Drescher) Rockoff, with whom he shared nearly 68 wonderful years, he was the devoted father of Dr. Mark Rockoff and his wife Beth of Hingham, Dr. Steven Rockoff and his wife Lois of Vancouver, Washington, and Debbie Rockoff-Sagir and her husband Uzi of Binyamina, Israel; cherished grandfather of Benjamin and his wife Mina, Jillian and her husband Ezra, Michael and his wife Melissa, Alistair, Alexandra, Ghal, Itai and Maia; and great-grandfather of Ellis and Sceery. He was predeceased by his brothers, Manny and Normy, and his sister Anne.
He was born in Roselle, N.J., to immigrants from Russia, and was raised in Bayonne, N.J., before moving to Linden, N.J., to raise his growing family. With his older brother, he opened a men's clothing store (Rockoff Men's Wear) in Elizabeth, N.J., where he worked for nearly three decades. He retired to Marlboro, N.J., eventually moving to Linden Ponds Retirement Community in Hingham in 2012. He was a proud World War II veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Funeral services will be at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 11 a.m., followed by interment at the Hingham Center Cemetery in Hingham. Memorial observance will be at the home of Mark and Beth Rockoff on Sunday afternoon following the interment. A celebration of his life will be held at the Derby Clubhouse at Linden Ponds, Hingham on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 3-4:30 p.m.
