Vernon Irvin Schmidt was the son of Henry J. and Johanna J. (Tschetter) Schmidt. Vern was married three times, first to Louella Leona Schaal on 8 Nov 1947, she died in an accident in 1958,they had no children. His second wife was Patricia Ann (Lee) Schaal. they were married 29 June 1959. Vern had four daughters: Deborah, Diana, Lynda and Patricia and one son William "Bill" Schmidt. His third wife was Monica Clayton. They had no children.
