"Walter B. Walker was a circuit rider minister, the first one at Ottawa, Kansas.
He aided in the establishment of the university at Baldwin, Kansas, with a gift.
He died at age 40 years of pneumonia, leaving his wife Pamella Taylor Walker with six children to raise: Frank, Emma, Joseph, Ella, Lawrence C. and Cordella. They lived on a small farm so raised most of their food. The boys fished and hunted."
NOTE: We have found no documentation regarding Walter's aiding in the establishment of the university at Baldwin, Kansas. In June 1997, a Cousin called the Baker University at Baldwin, Kansas, and was told they don't have any WALKER name on their list of early contributions to help get the college started.
