BRIGHAM CITY - On Monday, October 31, 2017, Merleen Thurgood "Pink" Herbert passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Merleen was the oldest of Don J. and Lula M. Price Thurgood's five children. Lula died tragically when Merleen was seven. Her father then married Algie May Herbert and Algie's eight children became Merleen's siblings.
Merleen married Jay M. Herbert on December 12, 1946. They were later sealed for time and all eternity on December 27, 1991. Together, they raised five sons and Merleen's much awaited daughter. Dave (Marita), Mark, Craig, Sharr, Kurt (Paula - deceased), Chad (Tina), Scott Berry Herbert; 23 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul; and one sister, Ruayne.
Merleen spent her life giving service to others. She loved and lost many and was an angel and mother to all.
The family would like to thank Integrity Home Health and Hospice, especially: Alexis, Erik and Jodi for their wonderful care of our mother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Brigham City LDS 19th Ward Chapel, 105 W. Fishburn Drive.
Viewings will be held at the church on Friday, November 3, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Entrusted to Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City, 435-723-5236.
