In 1895 married Nora May "Norrie" Garvin (1876 – 1953), daughter of
William Wallace Garvin, Sr. (1845 – 1910) and Mahulda "Huldy" "Huldah" Mulvina Hiatt Garvin (854 – 1884).
Norrie and Am had the following children:
Hettie "Het,"; Russell.; Harlow; and Raymond E.
Norrie's half-sister Mary Vie Garvin Ferguson (1894-1987) used to call Het and Russell the "onery little dickens."
