Carolyn M. Bridges, 84 PORTLAND -- Carolyn M. Bridges, 84, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Maine Medical Center. She was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Solon, the daughter of the late Herbert and Majorie Johnson Adams. Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Portland. Both she and her husband played a very active role there. She was a talented seamstress and had her own business at one time. She is survived by her husband, Stanwood K. Bridges Sr.; four children, Linda Price and her husband Terry of Chattanooga, Tenn., Wanda Thompson and her husband, the Rev. Ron Thompson of LaGrange, Wyoming, Stanwood Bridges Jr. and his wife Dawn of Matamoras, Pa., and Pamela Manning and her husband Mark of Portland; two brothers, Herbert A. Adams and Raymond Adams both of Rocky Hill, Conn.; 12 grandchildren, Sandra Avery, Donald Price, Kara Valdez, Lora Thompson, Stanwood Bridges, III, Nicole Bridges, Victoria Cabral, Venessa Cabral, Billy Bridges, Christopher Moore, Danny Manning and Mark Manning; three great-grandchildren, Blythe Avery, Lucas Valdez and Xaida Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be help 1 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Portland, 360 Canco Rd., Portland.
