Born in Peru, Iowa, Mrs. Cunning had lived in St. Joseph most of her life.
For many years, she was employed as a sewing machine operator for H.D. Lee Co. and the former Nellie Don and Big Smith companies, retiring in 1973.
Mrs. Cunningham was a member of the St. Joseph Cathedral
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Adams, in 1968 and two brothers, Ed and Galen Hiskey.
In 1978, she married John G. Cunningham in St. Joseph. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors: three step-daughters, Mary A. Hazen of St. Joseph, Glenna M. Ogle of Bismarck, Mo., and Colleen L. Bently of Overland Park, Kan.; three stepsons, John W. Cunningham of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Terrance J. Cunningham of St. Joseph and George M. Cunningham of Liberty, Mo.,; two brothers, Walter W. Hiskey of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wayne P. Hiskey of Springfield, Mo.; four sisters, Mary I. Banks, Opal M. Falkenback and Laura L. Ripper all of St. Joseph and Verla J. Newton of Wathena, Kan; 11 [step] grandchildren and two [step] great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Joseph cathedral. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: after 10 a.m. today, at Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight. ~ St. Joseph News-Press, St Joseph, Mo., July 17 1992
