Greg joined the National Guard and served for three years while living in Alvin, Texas. Later, he moved to Coleman, Wis., where he worked for Krueger Construction. He then worked at Waupaca Foundry for 20 years. Greg left the foundry in April of 2015 and returned to Alvin, Texas, taking a position as a ramp agent with Southwest Airline.
Greg was a generous man, always offering his time and expertise to help friends and family with construction and landscaping projects around their homes. Driven by purpose and passion, Greg trained diligently and intelligently to become a two-time Ironman — his resolve inspired all who knew him. Nothing meant more to Greg than his family. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished family camping trips, as well as hunting and fishing.
Greg is survived by two sons: Vincent and Anthony Beltrone;
and their mother, Carol Marcek;
his siblings: Debbie Schwalbe, Victoria Garcia, Kathy Messenger-Beltrone, William Beltrone; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dorothy and Russell Petznick; parents: Robert and Laverne Beltrone; a brother, Bob Beltrone [d. 2014]; and a nephew, Ben Garcia.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Archer Luepp officiating.
