Laverne was a devoted wife, mother, who served her family with unconditional love. Her faith was great, as she attended Mass regularly and came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior while attending New Hope Church in Alvin. Laverne worked outside the home as a teacher’s aid, school crossing guard, Zwichers Knitting Mill and the Tasty Bakery. She volunteered as a hospitality host at the hospital, Welcome Wagon, Eucharistic minister and home/school association.
She loved camping, knitting and donated blankets, caps, booties to woman’s and children’s charities. Her family remembers fondly Laverne’s love of anything sweet, just like her. Swimming at the family fitness center in Kerrville and the YMCA in Alvin enriched her life. Backyard swings and gliders summarize her fun childlike character.
Laverne is survived by daughters, Debra Schwalbe and husband, Gregg, Victoria Garcia and husband, Lenny and son, Danny, Kathy Messenger and husband, Steve and her sons, Michael, Chris, Nick and special soul, Heidi. Laverne sons, Greg Beltrone and his sons, Vincent and Anthony, Bill Beltrone and wife, Donna, his daughters, Leah and Allison. Brother, Reg Petznick and wife, Jean.
