Mr. Bobby Ralph Clayton, age 80, died Wednesday December 12th, 2018, at his residence. The Garfield, Georgia native graduated from Portal High School. He joined the U.S. Army serving for 17 years and then transferred to the Army National Guard. He moved to Bulloch County in 1971 and with his brother Johnny they started Clayton Construction Company. In the mid 1980’s Bobby moved to Savannah where he resided until his death. Following his retirement from the construction business, Bobby was partner and manager of Cheers on Wilmington Island and later Island’s Sports Bar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Carl Clayton and Ethel Howell Clayton; his wife Carolyn Tucker Clayton; a son Eddie Clayton; a sister, Jackie Lowery and two brothers, Johnny and Ronnie Clayton.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Nick Pascullis of Statesboro; two sons, Steve Clayton and Mike Clayton of Statesboro; his grandchildren, Niki Horne and husband Ivan of Statesboro, Eric Clayton and Elizabeth Edwards both of Statesboro, Lara Clayton and Leigh Wilson and her husband Tony all of Bulloch County and Dylan Clayton and Destiny Clayton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carlene Akins and Chris and Arthur Sparks all of Statesboro and Shirley and Bobby Beasley of Atlanta and his great grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, Sam, Carie, Wyatt, Bryce, Emilie, Lily and Tucker. Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the Iron Order MC Backwoods Chapter.
