Russell Paul Cook, Sr., 68, died Tuesday, June 3. Mr. Cook was born in Dubois County, Indiana and had lived in this area for the last 22 years. He is retired from the Nichols Bakery, where he was manager of the Thrift Stores.

He was a World War II veteran, and had served in the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion. He was recipient of the Silver Star and two Purple Hearts.

He is survived by wife, Marilyn; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Don Hardman of Cuyahoga Falls, and Betsy Cook of Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Russell Paul Jr. and Alice of Mansfield; sisters, Olive Andry, Melva Choates, Bernice Oxley, Virginia Eckert, and Norma Andry; brother, Pervil Cook, all of Birdseye, Indiana; grandchildren, Jeff and Laura Hardman, Jason, Josh, and Jeremy Cook.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the Dunn-Quigley-Ciriello & Carr Falls Chapel (on Portage and 8th Street), where Rev. Forrest J. Waller will officiate services at 1 p.m. on Friday. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Family requests memorial donations be made to one's favorite charity. (Dunn- Quigley-Ciriello & Carr, Falls Chapel, 867-7306.)
