Bro. Henry Hughes, 71, of Center, passed away Tuesday December 11, 2018, in Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Watson & Sons Chapel in Center. Funeral service wil be held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 14, 2018, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Don Moore, Bro. Chris Collins and Bro. Keith Keele officiating. Internment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Bro. Henry Hughes was born July 4, 1947, in Center, to Thomas Clinton Hughes and Ellie Irene Carter Hughes. He served as a crew chief for the Texas Highway Deptarment and was a licensed minister for forty years. He was a soul winner and hobby was fishing. He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Center. He is survived by his wife Peggy Emanis Hughes of Center; son, Charles Paul Hughes and wife, Britney, of Center; brother David Hughes and wife Kathy, of Center; special friend Kiefer; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Clinton Hughes and Ellie Irene Carter Hughes; brothers and sister, Orland Leo Hughes, Maurine Hughes Hopkins, Billy Clyde Hughes, John Bennarr Hughes, Jack Monroe Hughes, Orville Carter Hughes, Thomas Carl Hughes, Ted Carroll Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Glen Bolton, Jason Burch, Glynn Hutto, Paul Breaux, Marshall Windham, and Waylon Boles. Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. K.P. Bradshaw, Robert Sanford, and Bro. Henry’s nieces and nephews.
