James Neil Bennett, age 54, of Irwinton, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018.

Mr. Bennett was a graduate of Baker Academy and obtained his Bachelor's Degree from ABAC and Brenau College. He was a member of Big Sandy Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. He was a handyman and an avid outdoorsman. In addition to hunting, fishing, and cooking; he enjoyed taking his family on vacation and spending quiet time in the mornings. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his father, James Riley Bennett, and grandparents, J.A. and Lizzie Butler and J.W. and Mattie Bennett.

Survivors include his daughter, Hannah B. Carter (Cory), of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Marin Ryleigh Carter, of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Murlie B. Bennett, of Eastman; sister, June B. Riggin (Robert), of Warner Robins; niece, Victoria R. Wilson, (Quinton), of Warner Robins; nephews, Rick Riggin (Becca), of Warner Robins and Rob Riggin (Heather), of Forsyth; two great nieces; an expected great nephew, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Dublin, GA.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Scott will officiate. Burial will follow in the Big Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rick Riggin, Rob Riggin, Rem Barnett, Al Barnett, Jerry Clark, and Ricky Butler.
