Son of Samuel Emrick and Hannah Market. Noah changed his name back to the original German spelling, Emerich. He married Mary Elizabeth Hughes after his first wife, Nannie Wells, died in Iowa. Noah Emerich homesteaded in Idaho under the Homestead Act of 1862. He settled near Lewiston, Nez Perce Co., on 100 acres of land, in 1912.
