Lois was born in Muncie on February 4, 1938, the daughter of Kathleen Horton and James E. Dakins.
Lois was a devoted homemaker and also a dedicated volunteer with The American Red Cross. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved children and always enjoyed babysitting.
Survivors include her children, Brad Dakins (wife, Erin) and Denise Warner; her grandchildren, Andrew, Jesse and Steven Dakins, Shayna Hooten, Shon Warner and Koral Gregg and her step grandchildren Lauren Patty, Lindsey Hosier, Lane Hosier, and Lexus Hosier and her great grandchildren Adriana Dakins, Hunter Dakins, Katrina Hooten, Kylie Hooten, David Hooten, Kenzi Hooten, Adan Dakins and Cierra Dakins and step great grandchildren Benjamin and Weston Patty; two sisters, Becky Greer and Judith Lee Claussen; a brother, James Dakins; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends; a special heartfelt gratitude is extended to her nephew, Kory Carpenter for his special care.
Cremation will take place and The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
