Fred Greenfield, 79, Salt Lake City, Utah, died November 13, 1977, in a Salt Lake hospital.
Born April 27, 1892 (sic), Manchester, Lancashire, England, to Fred and Jessie Parish Greenfield. Married Alice Richardson Jones August 1, 1925, Staleybridge, Cheshire, England. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died August 12, 1969. High Priest in the 31st Ward, past Superintendent of Parks and Open Spaces in Staleybridge, England, Member Royal Horticultural Society in England, gardner for the Salt Lake Temple grounds and Shriner's Hospital, member Wasatch Men's Garden Club, Utah Gladiolus Society, Past President of the Utah Dahlia Society, active in civic beautification and Flower Show Judge.
Survived by daughters: Mrs. John (Joan) Pettit, Philadelphia, Mississippi; Mrs. Dennis G. (Valerie) Kelley, Bountiful, Utah; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters, Mrs. Jessie Gask, Stafford, England; Mrs. Mabel Davis, Liverpool, England.
Funeral services Thursday 12 noon, 31st Ward Chapel, 1140 South 9th East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday, 6-8 p.m, and at the Ward Chapel Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
