John Anderson died Sept 24, at his home at 9:30 am at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 26 days. He was born in Pinekulla, Wernamo, Sweden, Jan 28, 1833. In 1868 he came to America and then settled in Crawford county. In 1869 he was united in marriage to Martha Edlund. To their union was born to them four sons and one daughter. Then he with his family moved on his farm in Ida county in 1881 which he had owned since 1874.

In the winter of 1876 he was converted, baptised and joined the Baptist church at Kiron in April 1876, which he belonged to until the Baptist church at Arthur was organized which he belonged to till his death. Mr. Anderson was an honest hard working citizen, a kind husband and loving father. he will be greatly missed not only in the family circle but in the community of which he has been a member for so long.

The funeral which was conducted by Rev. Bergland, was held Thursday pm at 1 o'clock at the home place. Then his remains were taken to the Baptist church where the services were held. Then taken to the cemetery south of Arthur where his remains were laid to rest.
