Memorial service was Thursday, November 29, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, Miller with Rev. Brian Jones and Jesse Hammer officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Miller.
Donna Faye Johnson was born December 22, 1934 to Jack and Mamie (Palmer) Johnson at Miller, SD. She attended school at Pleasant Valley Township and attended high school in Miller. After graduating high school in 1952, she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator.
In 1954, she married the love of her life, Lowell Droz, and to this union, Jeanette, Sandra, and Gregory were born. She worked with her husband on the farm and enjoyed landscaping the lawns with assorted bushes, flowers and plants, growing a huge garden, watching birds, camping and fishing. She belonged to the South Hand Merry Workers club for many years. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In 1997 a house was purchased in Mesa, AZ where she and her husband enjoyed the winter months for many years. In 1999 the ranch was sold and they moved to Miller.
Thankful to have shared her life are her children: Jeanette Hastings, Sandra Holt, and Greg Droz (Shelly Hanks), all of Miller; the pride and joy of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Harold (Renae) Hastings, Hayden and Hillary; Tera Holt (Mike Eells), Aryan, Ariel, Merrit and Madalynn; Jared (Kimberly) Holt; Karri (Jon) Arey; Bryan Droz and son, Peyton; Nikki (Craig) Jones, Emry and Kash; Lora (Gene) Holt, Ryan and Zane; Taylor Droz (Chelsea Davis) and Nora; Logan Single and Shantel Single; sister, Darlene (Wallace) Johnson, in-laws: Charles (Fern) Droz, Darlene (Jesse) Hammer, Carolyn (Marvin) Diede; a special friend, Lorraine Rediger; her faithful dog, Meeka; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Earl Johnson; brothers-in-law: Clemmet Johnson, Gordon, and Howard Droz (infant); sister-in-law, Margaret (Carroll) Morford; and sister, Vivian Johnson.
