Born in Pittsfield on June 9, 1915, daughter of Francesco and Albina Marchisio Serra, she attended Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. Menin was employed for a short time by the former Elmvale Worsted Co. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a communicant of All Souls’ Church and enjoyed cooking and going to Off Track Betting in New Lebanon, N.Y.
She leaves her husband, Louis Menin, whom she married Aug. 31, 1940, at Mount Carmel Church.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Virginia (Serra) Menin, 87, died Thursday, April 17, 2003. Beloved wife of Louis Menin. Other survivors include nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces. Funeral services will take place Monday, April 21, at 8:30 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Pittsfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Souls’ Church in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Menin was predeceased by a brother, Philip Serra, and four sisters, Josephine Testa, Faustina Delmolino, Rose Novaris and Lea Rizzardi.
