MRS FANNIE B TALBOT DIES AT SHARPSBURG
Fractured Hip Is Fatal to Widow of Col Thomas Talbot
SHARPSBURG Ky Sept 2— Mrs. Fannie Barbee Talbot died Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter Mrs F S Allen in this town after an illness of about two weeks' duration from a broken hip. She was 81 years old last January.
Mrs Talbot was one of the most prominent women of this section of the state. She belonged to an old historic family. She was born in Danville and was one of twelve children of Colonel Thomas and Nancy Fry Barbee. In 1855 she married Mason Talbot of Danville who Joined the Confederate army and died soon after the close of the war.
To Mr and Mrs Talbot six children were born, Mrs Bottle Howell of Huntington W Va, Mrs Nannie Johnson of Paris, Mrs F S Allen of this place, Thomas B Talbott of Winchester, Brent and Fannie Talbot deceased.
After the death of her husband she came to this town and taught music and was principal of the Sharpsburg College for about twenty-five years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church having Joined in early girlhood. She was also a charter member of the U D C Her body will be buried at Danville
